Notes from our customers: “Do your customers appreciate the immense value of the clover? It chokes out my weeds and covers areas where nothing else will grow....... Your seeds are or top quality. Many have not yet come up because of our cold night this time of year, but the snapdragons are the most beautiful I have ever grown....... Before discovering you, I ordered from someone whose seeds were infected with weeds, especially a thistle plant which is really ugly and reseeds like wildfire. I am still pulling out hundreds of them two years later. Nothing will crowd them out. Thank you so much for your prompt service and wonderful seeds”. — Sincerely, David "We live outside of Atlanta in a very rural area....My grandparents were very poor people, but her house always had zinnias stuck in mason jars in every room. It was not uncommon for farmers to prepare large acreage for their crops and leave space where their wives would plant zinnias and marigolds at the end of the plots. As you drove the back roads of Georgia, you would see miles and miles of zinnias lining cornfields and cotton fields. I planted a huge border and they came up just as beautiflly as I remembered. One day, while I was out in the garden cutting flowers for my house, I decided to put a bouquet together and send it over to this lady we had seen coming and going. The next day this lady came over and introduced herself. (She) told me she had never received flowers from anyone in all her life and that she had been touched beyond words...that it had been years, since she was a little girl living in the country that she had seen flowers like these....Not only did we touch someone's heart with the zinnias, but we have now gotten to be very close friends with this lady and her husband (an invalid). I always tell my daughter that our flower bed turned out to be priceless! I thought you would appreciate the wonderful way that these zinnias lived out your company name and theme, flowers both art and soul." — Duncan Y. (This letter has been much abreviated, but it is a very touching story). A customer of mine has wrestled an urban lot in Ohio from the city and started a community garden. One day a young child who had just moved in across the street came over to see what was going on. "You gonna grow stuff here?" he asked "Yes, would you like to grow something? Bring your Mom over and you can help. What vegetables do you like?" "Well,,,, green beans, brocolli, and..." he stoped and thought for a minute. "Can we grow macarroni?".... True story from Michael W., Master Gardner. "You make being a flower child easy!" David G "Seeds arrived today. They certainly look good. Only one comment They're too cheap!!! Seriously, I think they are ~10% of the local retail price..... Thanks again for a great value." P I plant, I sow, I grow and now I must go. But you need to know, that your lovely seeds germinate and always put on a splendid show. R.Salter |
